What's IN A Title?
Once you start moving around within many windows programs, there may come a time where you don't remember what program you are currently focused on. Jaws has a built-in command which will read you the title of the window. Press INSERT+T and this will give you the information you need.
For example, if you press it now, you should here the following:
Title is: AccessContent Blog. You may also have other information such as the particular browser that you are utilizing to read this blog
You can use this key combination at any time to find out where you are.
What's your status Sulu?
Ever wonder where you are in a document, or want to know how many emails are presently cluttering your inbox? Well, the status line will tell you.
Depending on the program that your in, the status line will give you exactly that, your status. That's quick info which will help you with your work. For example, in Word it'll tell you where you are in your document; such as page, column etc. In Internet Explorer, it'll tell you if the page is done loading or if there's an error on the page.
Okay, let's read the status line.
Press the following key combination: JAWSKEY+NUMPAD3. That's the INSERT key plus the number 3 located on your number pad. Remember, you can always turn on the Jaws key learn mode by pressing JAWSKEY+1; that's the number one on your main keyboard. Once you press the status line key combination, Jaws should read you the bottom line of the screen.
Please note: Content of the status line may vary. Some programs may not even have a status line.
Each windows program has a particular title. You can hear these titles by pressing JAWSKEY+T.
Many programs have a status line and you can hear this by pressing JAWSKEY+NUMPAD3.
The Key learn toggle key is JAWSKEY+1.
