Help is on the way:
Jaws comes with a plethora of built-in help, (also known as context-sensitive help) and today, you'll find out how to access one of these options; via shortcut key of course. Before I go any further however, let me explain how the context-sensitive help works. Remember the Virtual cursor, (see Jaws Tip #3). Well when reading Jaws Help, you will be in the virtual mode. You can either let Jaws read the information automatically or navigate it through it with your arrow keys. Once done, press escape.
Now on to one of the help functions:
Since Jaws has been around for a few years now, it will be cognizant of most commonly used programs. Microsoft Office is a good example.
Want a list of Jaws specific hotkeys within your browser? No problem, press JAWSKEY+H.
Let's do this while you're reading this. There's a farily extensive list. I would suggest picking one hotkey combination, using it a few times until it becomes second nature and then adding another one to your bag of tricks.
Let's hear the web address of this page. Press JAWSKEY+A.
Begin to use context-sensitive help in all programs. You will benefit from it in the long run.
Jaws context-sensitive help can be accessed via JAWSKEY+H.
This sort of help can be found in most programs.
