I get by with a little help from my friends:
So there's one last Jaws-related help key which I'm going to dole out this week, and then we can start working on more user-related topics. Speaking of which, keep those ideas coming. Lots of neat stuff out there that people want to know more about.
Now on to our regularly scheduled program:
Have you ever wondered what you would do with a million dollars? Oops sorry, you caught me daydreaming. Has there ever been a time where you're using Jaws and would like to know what your options are at your current cursor location? Well, let's say that you have, then Jaws comes to the rescue with the key combination JAWSKEY+F1. Try pressing it now. You should hear something about being in an Outlook message and what options you have at your disposal. Press ESCAPE when done. This will work in any windows control. Use it to familiarize yourself with your computer environment.
But wait, there's more:
It slices, it dices, it's the Ginsu knife. Okay, I've watched way too much late night infomercials. Back to Jaws Tips.
This key combination has a secondary layer. If you press JAWSKEY+F1 twice quickly in an application, the popular applications Jaws help system will be called. Please note, not all applications will have this help. Most Microsoft products do however. This is where you could find lists of shortcut keys for that particular application or handy tips and tricks on how to make it easier to maneuver with Jaws.
JAWSKEY+F1 gives specific descriptions of the current item or control
Pressed twice quickly will bring up the Popular Applications Jaws help file system.
