Every so often, I stumble on something that really catches my eye, so to speak. I have about 10 different email lists, various RSS and multiple twitter feeds pushing information to me.
This morning, I found the following scripts for JAWS called BlindTunes, written by John Martyn. Essentially, these scripts alleviate a lot of the TAB and SHIFT+TAB navigation that is needed to use ITunes. It replaces them with shortcut keys. You're probably saying to yourself, "here he goes again with his shortcuts". But, let me tell you, you won't regret these particular shortcuts. For example, you can Fast Forward and rewind with CONTROL+RIGHT ARROW and CONTROL+LEFT ARROW respectively. You can raise and lower the volume with CONTROL+UP arrow and CONTROL+DOWN arrow. These scripts even fix a few problems I was encountering with the ITunes store.
But, why should I be telling you all this. Why not just go and download the scripts. Oh, probably because I haven't told you where they reside. Well, follow this link:
There, you can both download the latest version of ITunes and BlindTunes.
Once everything is loaded, I would suggest pressing JAWSKEY+G while in ITunes to read the BlindTunes guide. There are a few tips in there in order to make ITunes behave with the scripts. You can also access the BlindTunes shortcut key list by pressing JAWSKEY+J.
