Just winding up week three of our centralized training camp in St. Catharines.
It has been really tough; three intense workouts each day beginning at 7:30 am and ending at 6:00 pm. We walk around exhausted and sore all the time - we are rowing zombies! It's amazing though, you think you don't have anything left and still have one more workout, then you push through that one and surprise yourself. There's always more if you dig deep enough.
It hasn't been very uplifting though, we have been going so hard and are still being told it's not good enough.
I realize that's how it has to be though, if we want to be a contender for a medal we can't ever be satisfied and we have to keep pushing for more.
Actually today was the first day that we were told we're "getting there," so that's encouraging!
We raced against Master's Men last weekend and came in 2nd in both races against coxed fours. We would have liked first, but the races were better than in Munich and each one got better.
Yesterday we recieved our first pair of Oakley sunglasses (sponsoring us for the Games). They are very cool and I'm told they make us look fast lol.
Looking forward to the send off party on Saturday...
